Short Sound Design Demo Reel

This is a short demo of my creative sound design skills within Pro Tools, using stock footage have built the soundtrack from scratch with just under 50 layers of sound.

I have a broad range of professional  sound design, dialogue recording and audio editing experience from 5 years working in professionally in the industry as well as countless freelance projects. I thoroughly enjoy the creative process of bringing a scene to life with sound and by taking the time to understand the narrative I can create a deliberate soundtrack to support the story.

Using Unity's demo of The Blacksmith I have re-designed the audio to fit an airy and natural soundscape. Using breaths and subtle vocalisations to give a very personable feel to the doomed character, adding to the empathy you feel for him.

A short cinematic trailer that I have entirely re-designed as an example of my sound design, foley and music editing skills. See if you can spot the oddly fitting rollercoaster sound effect buried in the soundtrack.

Game Sound Design & Implementation

Unfortunately I cannot show off most of my VR work from my time at GCRS, as I don't have the rights to the content but for more information on these projects see 'Catwalk, Fantastic Beasts and SKY 4DVR here. For the rest of my work here is a short sample of my sound design an implementation work in unity and Unreal engine for a professional mobile game. 

Coming from a musical background growing up I have always enjoyed composing, recording and editing music. Although post production audio is my professional focus I spend a lot of my spare time writing and mixing music. I also frequently  freelance for a local community studio as an engineer and consultant as I was heavily involved in designing and building the studio a few years ago. Here is a slightly out of date sample of that work.
